Women's Broadcast Choir

 

Dear Sisters of Rogers Stake,

 

This fall on September 25th will be our next Stake Relief Society Social and General Relief Society Broadcast. We will start the evening with dinner.  Next, we'll enjoy a special program of choral music (sung by sisters from our stake) and then watch the broadcast from Salt Lake City together. 

 

This is an invitation for all sisters in Rogers Stake who like to sing to be part of this chorus. Anyone willing to learn, work hard, and share their musical talents is welcome to join. Sister Jo Evans will be the director.  She has chosen 4 or 5 beautiful songs for us to learn including "May I Serve Thee" from last year's Multi-Stake Women's Conference.  The timeline to learn the music will be short. Two practises a week are planned: one on Wednesday mornings at 9 am and, also, on Thursday evenings at 7:30 pm. You will be expected to attend at least one of these per week or both if you can.  We hope this will accommodate everyone's needs, timewise.  Practises will last at least 90 minutes each time.

 

Our first meeting will be Wednesday, August 4th at 9 am at the stake center and then again that evening (the only Wednesday) at 7:30 pm.  Everyone will receive their music at this time and hear the pieces. Hopefully, this will give every chorus member time to learn her part before our first full rehearsal on Wednesday morning, August 25th, at 9 am followed by a second full rehearsal on Thursday, August 26th, 7:30pm.  As we get close to September 25th, a Saturday or Sunday rehearsal could be added. All practises will be at the stake center.
