Parenting With Love and Logic Seminar

On Feb. 21st, Bentonville Public School District is hosting this event which is free and open to the community. If you have ever had questions about how to raise and guide a child of any age to be responsible, make good decisions, and become positive, productive citizens, you will definitely want to attend this event.

Where: Arend Arts Center-Bentonville High School
When: Monday, Feb. 21st @ 6:00 - 8:00 pm. *Arrive early to meet Jedd
Cost: FREE!

The school with the most parental participation will receive $100.00 towards Love and Logic materials. There will be sign up sheets for you to check-in with your school so please make sure and sign in...(Go Central Park!)​

Young Women and Girls Camp

It might seem early to be thinking about this, but Girls Camp is just around the corner!  It is time for the young women to begin earning and saving money for girls camp.  I wanted to send this out to all you ladies so that you would know the names of the girls in the branch.  If you need a babysitter, please consider hiring one of these wonderful young women.  If you have some odd jobs around the house, consider offering to pay them to help you complete it.  We are asking each young women to earn half of their way to camp, and we are hoping to earn the other half through a fund raiser.  Thanks~

Heart Strings Benefit Concert

This afternoon we consulted with local authorities regarding weather, travel and closings during the upcoming storm. Given all that we experienced last week, and the predictions for this storm, we are postponing the Heart Strings Benefit Concert to a date in late April. Orchestra Boosters is working with Nate Robinson so that we can provide the city with the same high quality concert. We will make everyone aware of the event details as they become available.

Julie Horrocks



Julie and her family arrived in Bentonville on June 2010. Prior to NWA her family had lived in many diverse places including: Austin, TX, Orlando, FL, Salt Lake City, UT, Boston, MA, and Honolulu HA. Julie was raised in Iowa. With her husband Steve, Julie has two grown children (Haley & Robert) and two teenagers (Jon & Whitney). She enjoys children’s literature and family history. Learning something new and enjoying family dinners are two things that make her happy. She prefers dark chocolate. Her favorite food is shrimp. Her favorite dessert is key lime pie. And she loves to vacation anywhere with a beach! Her favorite hymn is “High on a Mountain Top” because it declares to the world who we are and what we believe. She hopes to exercise consistently this year.





Carrie Wilde

Carrie moved to the area with her husband Duben in August 2008. Before that she lived all over: Chandler, AZ, Monterey Bay, CA, Las Vegas, NV, Salt Lake City, UT, Rexburg, ID, Richmond, VA, and New York City, NY. She has one little girl, Ainsley, who is 1 ½. She loves to cook, bake, travel, and try new things. Her family makes her happy. She prefers dark chocolate from Germany or Switzerland. Carrie’s favorite food is Chicken Bryan from Carrabbas. Her favorite dessert is apple pie. Her favorite place she has visited on vacation is Venice, Italy, but she also loves going home. Her favorite hymn is “I Know that My Redeemer Lives” because of the beautiful and strong message it gives of our Savior and Redeemer. She never doubts His love, and she knows that He gave the ultimate sacrifice for us. This year Carrie plans to read more books.

C2 update - all meetings will be held this Sunday

Hello everyone,

It has definitely been a week of crazy weather.  We hope that everyone is warm and has everything that they need.  If not, please let us know.  Please continue to maintain contact with your home and visiting teaching families to ensure that all is well.  It is a great time to be looking out for one another.

At the time of writing, snow is falling once again.  The latest report says that the snowfall may continue through the evening on Friday, and we should see some sunshine on Saturday (although it will still be cold).  Please know that we are still planning on holding all meetings on Sunday.  Of course, the safety of you and your families should be of primary concern, so please use sound judgment as you decide how to proceed. 

The church parking lots were cleared earlier this week, so the initial accumulation was removed/plowed.  President Bell is organizing a group of men to assist in clearing the sidewalks and steps at 10am on Saturday.  Please come (bring snow shovels if you have them; there are several at the church) and help if you are able.  Many hands make light work. 

Be safe and enjoy the slower pace.

Brienne Austin

Brienne moved to Bentonville with her husband Dan in January 2009 from Provo Utah (BYU). They have one girl, Sadie, who is one. She sews adorable children’s toys and blankets. She also enjoys crocheting and playing volleyball. Walking with good friends makes her happy. She prefers dark chocolate. Her favorite food is orange chicken. Her favorite dessert is chocolate ice cream. And she likes to vacation anywhere with family. Her favorite hymn is “Be Still my Soul” because it always helps her to feel the Spirit. This year she hopes to teach her husband how to cook.
