Chelsie's Blueberry Buckle and Yummy Bean Dip recipes... from playgroup

Kim's Hot Bean Dip

 

1 8 oz cream cheese

1 cup sour cream

1 ½ cans refried beans

1 package taco seasoning

5  drops hot pepper sauce

2 tablespoons parsley (fresh or dried, I always use fresh)

¼ cup green onions

1 8 oz cheddar

1 8 oz mozzarella

 

 

Heat oven to 350.  Mix all of the ingredients together, reserving some cheese for the top.  Put into a small casserole and bake 23-30 minutes.

 

(I like to double the recipe when I have company, and put it into a 9 x 13. It feeds a large crowd!)

 
 

Blueberry Buckle Coffee Cake

 

Beat:

¾ cup sugar                                         ¼ cup butter

 

Add:

1 egg                                                   ½ cup milk (or buttermilk)

6oz sour cream          

 

Stir in:

2 cups flour                                         ½ t salt

2 tsp baking powder

 

Fold in up to 2 cups dry blueberries.  Spread thick batter in a greased 9x9 pan.

 

Crumb topping:

½ cup sugar                                         ¼ c flour

½ t cinnamon                                      ¼ c butter

¼ c oatmeal                                        ½ cup brown sugar

 

Sprinkle on top: ( I double the topping, put down half the batter, then a layer of topping, the rest of the batter, then rest of the topping)

 

Bake @ 350, 40 minutes (1 hour + if doubled and put in a 9x13—recommended)

Reminder of activity!

Alecia Hoyt is a certified child passenger safety technician and she is going to give an very informational class on car seat/car safety for children.  In addition to that, Amy Bench and Alissa Wiser will be teaching us how to do some fun and cute ways to do girl's hair!  It should be a lot of fun!  Also, it looks like rain may be in the forecast this week.  So, for inclement weather, we will be meeting at Chelsie Moline's house (4002 SW Hollowbrook Street; Bentonville).

In need of a washer...

Adult care help needed

I spoke with David Quye tonight about some temporary help for his mother. His mother is 78 years old and has Alzheimer's. His father is her primary caregiver and he is 80 years old. David is looking for someone to help with the care of his mother so his father can have a break. They are looking for someone that can help with her bathing, clothing, feeding, and changing(adult diaper). She is a small woman and is only weighing about 100 lbs now but does not require lifting. They have help on Friday and Saturday. They are looking for someone that can work about 6 to 8 hours a day for one or two days a week between Monday and Thursday. They are paying $15.00 an hour for her care. They live in East Rogers off of Hwy 12.

I told him I would pass this info on to you to see if we have any sisters that might be able to help this family. Again, his name is David Quye and his phone number is 246-8252.

Hey Mamas!

Sorry this reminder's so late, but today is play group at Chelsie Moline's!  It's sure to be lots of fun!  10:30 AM at 4002 SW Hollowbrook St. in Bentonville.  Hope to see everyone there!

And don't forget our swimming play group this Friday (cross your fingers for good weather!) at 10:30 AM at the Wildwood Neighborhood Pool!  Bring snacks/lunch for you and your kiddos if you'd like!
