Sisters,
Below is the quilt block we will be doing on the 28th. If you have any questions, don't hesitate to email or call me. The templates are exact size, so just cut them out on the outside lines and trace around them on your strips of fabric and cut them out of the fabric. It's pretty easy. If you decide to sew them before class, I will tell you mine did not turn out good doing it like they tell you to do it. I ripped my seems out and did it in 4 squares and then sewed the four squares together to make my block. It was much easier to line up my seams that way.

** Preparing the Pieces and Sewing the Block ** |

Start by cutting the Color 1 2" x 8" strip into four 2" squares. Next, using the template provided , cut four trapezoids from each of the two Color 1 4-1/2" x 10" rectangles...note that four are cut in one direction, and four in reverse. Now cut the Color 1 3-7/8" x 7-3/4" strip into two 3-7/8" squares--stack these squares and cut them once on the diagonal to make four half square triangles...

| Repeat the above actions with the Color 2 strips of the same size... ...on to Page 2! |

| Sew a Color 1 trapezoid to the right edge, right sides together, of a Color 2 half square triangle. Press seam towards the dark side. Sew a Color 1 2" square to the square end of a reverse Color 1 trap. Press seam towards the dark side. Sew the square and trap unit to the bottom of the triangle unit, also pressing that seam towards the dark. Make four more Dark Units like this... |

| Now make four Light Units following the above same steps, but with reverse color pieces, and pressing seams to the light side instead... |
| Next sew a Dark Unit and a Light Unit together. Make four units like that... |

| Sew pairs of the above units together. Join the new half-blocks to complete the Betty's Delight block!...on to Page 3! |
