Easy costume ideas for robes, tunics, or clothing that wrap around or drape over the body:
A simple tunic can be made by taking a piece of fabric the width of your body and twice the length. Fold it in half length wise and make a slit in the fold for your head. Tie it around your waist with a sash, scarf, cord, or rope.
Bathrobes or lounge wear can be used (modest only please). Plain knee-length or full-length dresses can be tied about the middle with a scarf, sash, rope, or cord. The women can also wear a scarf or shawl to cover the head.
An easy costume can be made by folding a sheet in half so the hems are at the bottom. Over a shirt and pants, hold the sheet behind your back, grasp a corner fold in each hand. Drape the left corner over the left shoulder and bring the right corner under the right arm, across the chest and drape it over the left shoulder. Secure with a safety pin or piece of jewelry.
Shepherd type head wear can be made for adults and children with a towel, scarf, or pillow case, secured on the head with a length of rope, twine, yarn, or even tape.
