Jan 26- Stake Garden meeting-"How to have a Successful Garden". 7 pm @ the Centerton Building

The  class will cover these main points
1. Have a plan
- things to consider (cost, time, etc)
- commitment
- Arkansas growing season
- tools needed
2. Know your soil
3. Know your pests
4. Organic vs. Natural
5. Water, molds, and mildew
6. Weeds and weed control
7. Companion planting
8. Benefits
- family work ethic
- gaining knowledge
- canning your bounty
9. Heavenly Father's land

 

She will also answer any questions you may have; maybe you have decided to plant your garden in your yard at home instead of at the church site, and that is fine--you are still invited to attend Gina's class.  Please pass this on to others in other wards who might be interested in learning more about gardening.

Jan 7- We have a wonderful food storage opportunity THIS Saturday, Jan. 7th from 1-4 pm at the Oklahoma City Home Storage Center. You order bulk items and can them yourself or you can purchase prepackaged/precanned items. The Cannery does not can your bulk items for you. You can get any items available from the provident living order form.

Dec. 20- FEG-  "God Rest Ye Merry Gentle 'Wo'men." Come enjoy a Silent Night! Jennifer Massey's home, 1801 SW Gosford Ave. @ 8:30 PM. There will be a Hot Chocolate bar to help make a relaxing evening, hanging out and taking a break from holiday stress.  Hope to see you there!

Sister Swap Reminder and Update (please distribute to the RS sisters in stake)

From: Mechel Wall <bmwkids8@gmail.com> Subject: Sister Swap Reminder and Update (please distribute to the RS sisters in stake) SISTER SWAP!! It's Friday, coming in on the first December weekend and it is going to be a busy one!  If you have not already cleaned out your closets and toy bins and even bookshelves - do it today!  Surely there are things you are clinging to that just need a new home. REMEMBER:  Bring items tonight to the stake center east cultural hall between 5-9 and tables will be ready for you to set items (folded clothing, bagged toy sets) so they are ready for "shoppers" tomorrow.  New or nearly new (giftable items are the goal). TOMORROW:  those going to the temple can come early!  We will be there at 7:00 am to open the doors for you.  Everyone else can come at the advertised time of 7:30 am.  Please park on the north side (Bella Vista side) and use that entrance.  There is a baptism at 10:00 and we want to be VERY QUIET!  So if you have kids, come early so we don't disturb them on their special day. NEW INFO:  I will have a board set up to post photos of things too large for the swap.  Put your name and phone number by the photo so someone can get in touch with you to arrange a pickup of the item.   ALSO:  if you are looking for something (bike, rocking chair, bunk bed etc) let the other sisters know by posting a note on the board and maybe someone has what you need and is willing to swap with you. Dec 3- Ward Temple Day- 11:40 am session.  Please let Bro. Pirotta know if you are planning to go.

Dec 3- Stake 'Sister Swap' –Saturday from 7:30am to 12:30pm. - gently used items only. Bring any items to the stake center between 5 and 9pm Friday evening. Anything left over will be donated to Helping Hands. Please get the word out! If you are planning on the temple trip, you can "shop the swap" Friday evening.

Oct 21- Stake "Fill the Temple" Day- 2:20 & 5pm Session

Oct 22-23-Stake Conference. Please note that the Saturday evening adult session and the Sunday morning general session will be broadcast to our building. We’ll look forward to seeing you and to hearing the words of our inspired leaders. Take care.

Saturday, October 22nd: 4:00pm-5:30pm – Priesthood Leadership Meeting @ Stake Center chapel. Those invited to attend include, bishopric, Executive Secretary, all Clerks, HP Group leadership, EQ presidency, Ward Mission leader, YM presidency and advisors, SS presidency.

7:00pm-9:00pm – Adult session @ Centerton Building. For everyone 18 years of age and older.

Sunday, October 23rd: 10:00am-12:00pm – General Session @ Centerton Building. All are invited to attend.

Oct 25- Family Enrichment Group 8:30pm- Discussions on Postpartum Depression @ McKasson's home. Discussion leader- Sarah Allred


Oct. 29th-SATURDAY- Fall Festival at Central Park Elementary Cafeteria. 5:00pm. This activity is being held at Central Park Elementary School. Dinner will be inside in the cafeteria, with games to follow outside on the playground. This is such a fun activity, and a great opportunity to invite friends and neighbors. We will send directions to the school next week. Come dressed in your Halloween costumes (no masks, please) for a night of fun. Dinner, games for the kids, and trunk-or-treat to follow. Prizes will be awarded for chili, family costumes, and most festive trunk. Hope to see you all there!

November 10th-Relief Society Quarterly Activity "Living Your Happily Ever After." 6:30-8:30 p.m., Dinner and Childcare provided. Special Speakers: Abby Bell and Jill Jarvis. The Humanitarian Service Committee and the Meetings Committee are teaming up to have a canned food drive this night! Start collecting your non-perishable food items now and bring them to the activity! Hope to see you all there!
After talking with the food bank, here's a list of items that we'll be asking for in our food drive:
